The numbers this site produces are derived metrics, and derived metrics are only useful when you know how they are derived. So every formula is published: the exact Flesch Reading Ease and Flesch–Kincaid Grade equations, the syllable heuristic that feeds them, the 74-word stop list behind the keyword rankings, and the words-per-minute assumptions behind the timing estimates. Each result comes with a plain-English interpretation — a readability band, a density share, a delivery time — because a score you cannot interpret is decoration, not analysis.

Rather than round those edges off, the methodology page documents them: where the syllable heuristic miscounts, why very short texts produce unstable scores, why a spoken "2,500" takes longer than its two counted words. We would rather you trust the tools for the right reasons than for polished-sounding wrong ones.
